Foster was recognized for his impact in the turnaround industry. One area of highlight was his victories in the fight against Merchant Cash Advance lenders, or MCAs. Described by Bloomberg as the “debt-collection machine that’s chewing up small businesses across America,” MCA companies are known to charge rates of up to 400% annualized interest – often devastating struggling companies and forcing closure or bankruptcy.
As a Chapter 11 bankruptcy Trustee, Foster took a MCA lender to court for a return of usurious loans. The result was a $2.5MM victory, setting a precedent for future legal battles against a predatory industry across the nation.
Aside from his work in the field, Foster currently serves as a Board Member for Special Olympics of Arizona and is Emeritus Board Member for Junior Achievement of Arizona. Previously, he has served as Chairman of the Board and Member of the State and Central Executive Committees for Junior Achievement of Arizona.
